New BlackBerry OS 6

On Tuesday, RIM announced that the new BlackBerry 6 OS will run on the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and 9650 smartphones.
The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is available from AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S., while the 9650 is available from Sprint and Verizon Wireless.
The announcement came as RIM unveils the Blackberry Torch 9800.
However, the company said that upgrades are "subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead," meaning that it will take several months before any BlackBerry owner sees a latest version of the OS.
The BlackBerry 6 OS updatesjust about everything regarding the BlackBerry experience. Apparently, it is best designed for touch screen phones like the new BlackBerry Torch 9800, but fortunate for the others since it will run on the older, non-touch-screen phones as well.
In addition to that, BlackBerry 6 gives BlackBerry users a latest, WebKit-based Web browser that should be equal with the iPhone and Android browsers. It presents new social networking and text messaging applications.
Other aspect of the OS is that it also supports basic features like multitasking and copy-and-paste, just as the earlier versions of the BlackBerry OS did.
