Jailbreak for iPhone is back!

Jailbreak iphone

Apple claims that jailbreaking is an unauthorized modification of its software but after being legalized by the Library of Congress, JailbreakMe.com is back and now with tag "2.0" offering jailbreaks for iDevices including iPhone 4 and all smartphones running in iOS.

What is jailbreak exactly?

As defined in JailbreakMe.com official website, jailbreak is simply the ability to run apps and use themes and tweaks not approved by Apple. Jailbreaking doesn’t slow down your device or use any extra battery, and is fully reversible (just restore in iTunes). A jailbreak lets your device be how you want it.

Unlike the Google’s Android phones where you can download applications outside its market, you will need to download apps from Apple’s iTunes store if your iPhone is not jailbroken yet.

The site JailbreakMe.com provides instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone though many times you will not be able to connect due to the heavy traffic.

Here is the initial list of iDevices that are jailbreakable in courtesy of redmondpie.com:
