Tiger Woods and Nordegren Woods: Divorce is final

elin and tiger divorced

Every story has its ending.

Attorneys for Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Woods has made it official, announcing that the couple have divorced. It finally confirmed rumors that have swirled for most of 2010.

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," the couple said in a joint statement that leaves zero doubt as to where their future concerns will lie. "While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

The terms and conditions surrounding their divorce were not revealed, however it’s expected that Elin Woods will be receiving a generous financial incentive in return for staying mum.

Possibilities are it won’t approach the outlandish $750 million figure bandied about earlier this year, but when you get 9 figures, does that first digit relevant?

This information closes a chapter on a story that started last Thanksgiving, when news of Woods’ infidelities surfaced. Who could have thought that a very simple one-car accident will ignite astory that would become both fascination and disgust making fans somehow  amused worldwide.

Woods took hiatus from the game, and has spent time in a treatment facility for sex addiction, sustained endless scathing criticism and endless teasing, and somehow got back on track to the course as a different player.

This will not be the end for Tiger.  Divorce is never without pain, it will perhaps  help the golfer to put 2010 behind him once and for all and pick up the pieces to start anew.
