Rizal stadium to call for DPWH safety clearance for Azkals vs Sri Lanka match
As the growing popularity of Philippine Azkals surges, Rizal Memorial Stadium’s grandstand only needs the safety stamp of the Department of Public Works and Highways for it to become the location of the Philippine football team’s next home game.
“If [it] is structurally sound, we will go for Rizal Memorial,” Philippine Football Federation president Mariano Araneta told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Tuesday night.
The Azkals’ next home match is slated on July 3. They will come face to face with Sri Lanka for the return leg of their 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers first round battle.
