Finally, a date has been given for kickoff performances of the much anticipated  “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” with music and lyrics done  U2’s Bono and the Edge.

Nov. 14 — at Broadway’s Foxwoods  Theater, formerly the Hilton Theater.  In addition to that, the show’s producers announced on Tuesday that they had also scheduled an opening night, Dec. 21.

The musical is expected to have a $50 million budget, considered as the largest in Broadway history. Julie Taymor, the Tony Award-winning creator of the long-running musical “The Lion King,” directed the musical.

“Spider-Man” appears to have bounced back from a production delay that involved rushing its original plan to start performances last February.

Executives involved with “Spider-Man,” said that the new producers have secured enough financing for the creative team to begin rehearsals next week and commit to performance dates and a box-office schedule.

Tickets will continue to go on sale in September. It’s an exclusive presale to American Express cardholders which begins on Saturday. People who already bought tickets will be reached by Ticketmaster and will also be prioritized in terms of access for tickets again.
