Philippine veteran comedian Palito dies at 76
After days of fighting for his life, veteran comedian Reynaldo Hipolito or popularly know as "Palito" died.
According to reports he died from a lung condition. He was taken to PGH on April 6 from the Imus Family Hospital where he was brought earlier after complaining of extreme abdominal pain.
Palito tried to venture in business but failed miserably. He also admitted that he had mismanaged his finances that left him with little fortune. But he was so proud that his wealth are in the form of friends and fans in the showbiz industry that quickly helped him and his family in their time of need.
Unexpectedly, Mark Esqueta of Rivermaya was one of those people who spread help request on Facebook on April 6. He then posted:
"Legendary actor/musician, Palito, is currently confined in a hospital in Imus, Cavite and he badly needs financial assistance in order to fully diagnose his condition. He is in need of a CT Scan ASAP. Please contact us at 09163451874 if you wish to donate. Any amount will help him greatly. Please share this post with your contacts. Thank you so much."
The next day he posted: "For those who want to donate to or just visit Palito, he’s at PGH, Ward 3, Bed 42. Thank you everyone for the tremendous support."
Palito’s son Jhune, shared that on April 6, when his father came home, he was very weak to the point of unable to undress himself. He was even resisting to go to the hospital.
In 2007, Palito said in an interview that he was still healthy eventhough his appearance fail to register his claims. He also confessed that he is a smoker and claims that it was only his vice.
