Noynoy has Kris, I've got Paquiao- Villar
Nacionalista Party presidential bet Manuel Villar stated that he is not worried about Kris finally campaigning for his brother, since he has the right star power who will campaign for him. He is no other than the boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. In an interview he said he is not surprised to see Noynoy with Kris in his campaigns, since Kris is Noynoy’s sister, it’s only natural that siblings will support each other.
"Hindi ako nagugulat doon. Si Kris ay kapatid ni Noynoy, so natural lang na sasama siya. So hindi na nakakagulat iyon," Villar said.
He also noted that he would like to believe that he and the Aquinos are still friends despite the neck-and-neck battle between him and Noynoy. He explained that he is just waiting for the return Manny Pacquiao after his match with Joshua Clottey.
During his interview, Villar excused himself to answer his cellphone. When he was done, he informed that it was Manny and confirmed that the 7-division champion will be with him in his campaigns. Villar said that Pacquiao videotaped his message endorsing Villar, and that the tape is played wherever he goes. Here is his message, endorsing Villar:
"Pagdating ko po sa Pilipinas, sasamahan ko po ang aking mahal na presidente na si Manny Villar para po ma-introduce sa inyong lahat. Eto po si Manny Villar, siya po ang sagot sa ating mga problema dahil alam ko na galing siya sa hirap, kailangan natin ng isang lider na ang damdamin niya ay nasa pakiramdam ng mahihirap,"(When I return to the country, I will accompany my beloved president Manny Villar so that I can personally introduce him to all of you. This is Manny Villar. He is the solution to all our problems because he knows how it is to be poor and we need a leader whose sympathies are like with the poor.)
Meanwhile, it is still the Aquinos who gets the upper hand when it comes to celebrities and entertainers openly endorsing Noynoy, because of his sister’s connections in the showbiz industry. This is what Kris, Noynoy’s campaign sortie, said during the campaign when she went to Zamboanga: "Ilang beses ko na pong napatunayan sa ‘min na hindi kami nag-iisa. Ang hinihingi ko po sa inyo, sa May 10, sana naman po hindi niyo makakalimutan: Noynoy Aquino," said Kris to the crowd.
