Israel strikes back at Gaza
Israel air strike targeted three tunnels in Gaza yesterday and this morning which injured two people and three others missing. This is in retaliation of Gaza’s rocket attack early morning Saturday which landed in the Israeli town of Sderot. There was no reports of injuries or damages.
This provocation has not stopped even after the three week Gaza War in 2008-2009. This conflict was codenamed Operation Cast Lead.
In July 2010, Israeli Defense Force Military Advocate General Avichai Mandelblit submitted a report to the United Nations regarding Isreal’s conduct during Operation Cast Lead. The said report confirmed the controversial Goldstone report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in Sept 2009 accusing both Palestinian militants and Israeli Defense Forces of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity, and recommended bringing those responsible to justice.
