Dancing Fountain in Rizal Park attracts crowds
This Christmas season, a display of water, lights, and music will surely liven up Manila’s most famous landmark.
Everyday, 2 hours each morning and evening, visitors to the Rizal Park can view multi-colored jets of water sway and spout in sync with carols along the monument of national hero Jose Rizal.
The park’s Central Lagoon Dancing Fountain, long there since 1968, was relaunched Thursday by the city government and the Department of Tourism in a cultural spectacle topping it with fireworks.
The new fountain was designed by German-Filipino William Schaare, who also developed the original fountain 42 years ago.
