2 Women Killed and Raped Inside their Home in Cavite
A vicious murder happened in Bacoor Cavite. A teenager and her cousin were reported to have been brutally murdered inside their own home on Wednesday.
The identities of the victims were released by Police Officer 3 Bernard Camposanto of the Bacoor Police Station. The victims were Janice Pausanos, 19, and her cousin, Leona Paloma, both residents of Barangay Molino.
The police station received a call past 5 p.m. Wednesday from the victims’ relatives, Camposanto said
Based on investigation, Pausanos sustained a single stab wound in the neck while Paloma died of 2 stab wounds in the neck plus 2 more stab wounds in the abdomen.
Apparently, the killer strangled Paloma with a cord of an electric fan. She was also naked from waist down in their kitchen floor
Crime scene investigators believe that Paloma was raped before she was killed. Traces of semen-like fluid were found in her private part.
Pausanos’s sisters said the crime could have taken place between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., since they said they left the victims around 3 p.m. and returned home 2 hours later.
The jungle bolo, the alleged murder weapon, was found inside the victims’ home.
Police investigator was certain that they will be able to solve the crime soon.
"We are digging up something, but we can’t name the suspect because he might get away," Camposanto said in Filipino.
Meanwhile, aside from the suspect, who was witnessed leaving the victims’ house, during the crime happened, they are also questioning a group of construction workers, whose site is just near the victims’ home.
He stated that each worker’s fingerprints will be interrogated and cross-matched with the prints they gathered from the crime scene.
