Quezon City Wildlife park becomes evacuation center

Due to a fire in a squatter settlement in Quezon City Tuesday afternoon, 200 families who lost their homes evacuated to QC Wildlife park.
The amphitheater and Balintataw building of the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center were filled with children and elderly citizens.
City social workers have been dropping by at the site since Tuesday night to assist in giving food to the displaced families.
Bobby Fortuno, head of Vasra village where the fire happened, requested for clothes, drinking water and school supplies for the children who attend school.
Meanwhile, the park’s management said they still do not know how long they can permit the families to stay in the amphitheater.
Reportedly, one person was hurt in Tuesday afternoon’s fire, The fire also damaged offices in the nearby Department of Agriculture building.
According to arson investigators, the estimated damage of property is at P5 million.
