Production of milk in Iloilo, worsens
In Iloilo, the milk production is weakening because of the dry spell of El Niño.
The normal production of milk in Philippine Dairy Authority’s milk processing plant in Tigbauan, is 300 liters of milk everyday. Now, since El Niño came, the production reduced to 150 liters per day even the production of dairy products and milk bars have been affected.
The low supply from livestock industry caused the decrease of milk production based on the reports of the dairy authority.
Farmers in Iloilo are seeking help from provincial agricultural office, but the assistance is not enough that’s why the farmers are searching for an alternative solution such as building of irrigation facilities in the province
