“No work” in gov’t offices in Northern Luzon on Tuesday

n luzon

Due to typhoon Juan,  Malacañang came to a decision to  suspend  work on Tuesday in all government offices in Regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Such move was a  recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC)  because of the continuing inclement weather brought by “Juan,” the Palace said in its Memorandum Circular No. 4.

“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital public services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services,” it added.

On the other hand, Department of Education (DepEd) spokesman Kenneth Tirado said that should weather bureau PAGASA lower storm signals by Tuesday morning, there could be classes in schools in the affected areas.

However, according to PAGASA, the storm signals may only be changed by around 11 a.m.

Parents and students are still advised to check developments on Tuesday.
