Mt. Bulusan emits ash

Several villages near Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon were affected when the volcano emitted ash Friday.
In the report, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), failed to record the measurement of the ash column that occurred at 12:25 a.m. Friday because it was dark and blurry.
Citing Senior Science Research Specialist Jack Puertollano of the Phivolcs, the report said that people living 5 kilometers from Bulusan felt movements, with rumbling sound after the explosion.
Phivolcs has recorded .5 to 2.5mm ash deposits in the towns of Irosin and Uban in Sorsogon. Affected villages were Cogon, Putting Sapa, Bulos, Bulan, Bacolod, Borboran and Anyog, the report said.
Meanwhile, Mt. Bulusan’s status remains at Alert Level 1.
