Mar Roxas says Purisima is responsible for Mamasapano Incident
Secretary of Interior and Local Government Mar Roxas stated that resigned Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima is accountable for the outcome of January 25 Mamasapano operation which resulted the deaths of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers.
Submitted by PNP officer-in-charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina on Friday the 100+ page report of the Board of Inquiry (BOI) to Roxas.
The BOI report will be uploaded to a secure, read-only website of the PNP within the day for the public viewing.
Telling the reporters in Camp Crame, Roxas said Purisima is liable in the Mamasapano bloody incident. He pointed that Purisima having been suspended already, should have not authorize the operation.
Roxas added that Purisima did not relay the chain of command to Espina. The then suspended PNP chief also ordered Napeñas not to inform Espina and Roxas about the January 25 operation.
Purisima , according to the DILG secretary disobeyed the order of President Benigno Aquino III to work with with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), which could have avoided the loss of 44 SAF troopers’ lives.
Meanwhile, Roxas continued that the President has no accountability over Mamasapano bloody operation.
