Magnitude 4.7 quake shooks Bohol, Cebu city hall suspends work
Earthquake bureau Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that a magnitude 4.7 tectonic earthquake was recorded Monday morning.
It rocked Buenavista, Bohol, generated strong ground shaking in nearby areas.
According to PHIVOLCS, their advisory shows that the quake struck 8 kilometers southeast of Buenavista at 9:47 a.m. with a depth of 3 kilometers.
The quake affected San Miguel town with Intensity 5 shaking, considered as "strong." Lapu-Lapu City and Buenavista, experienced Intensity 4 quakes.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III announced suspension of afternoon work at the capitol after the earthquake.
Meanwhile, the quake affected Iloilo City, Bogo City in Cebu, Tagbilaran City and Bacolod City with Intensity 3 tremors, while President Roxas town in Capiz felt Intensity 1 shakes.
