LPA turns into tropical depression ‘Ferdie’
It is Signal No.1 in several parts of the country.
State weather bureau PAGASA on Friday said the active low pressure area (LPA) being observed east of Aparri, Cagayan has boosted its strength into a tropical depression.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) added in its weather update that the tropical depression is named “Ferdie,” the sixth cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year.
Below are the following areas which were placed under warning signal number 1:
• Isabela
• Cagayan
• Calayan group of islands
• Babuyan group of islands
• Batanes group of islands
• Kalinga
• Apayao
• Abra
• Ilocos Norte
• Ilocos Sur
• Mt. Province
