Japanese couple found dead in Cebu resort
A room boy discovered the bodies of the married couple in Room 401 of the Blue Reef Resort in Marigondon village in Lapu-Lapu at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 24. The victims were identified as Takao Ouchi, 71, and wife Yukiko, 84. Ouchi is a retired TV director in Japan, while his wife is a former TV scriptwriter. The couple had been slated to check out of the resort on the day their bodies were found. Head Inspector Christian Torres of Lapu-Lapu Police Station 4 said Mrs. Ouchi’s body was found in the bed while Mr. Ouchi was found inside the comfort room, hanging by a curtain cord. There have been claims Mrs. Ouchi had attempted to kill herself twice because of an illness. Meanwhile, close friends of the couple mentioned that the couple bid goodbye on Tuesday night.
