Henry Sy’s daughter Teresita Sy-Coson is in Forbes Asia List of “most powerful ” businesswoman
Forbes Asia added Teresita Sy-Coson the lone Filipina to Forbes Asia magazine’s list of "most powerful" businesswomen in Asia for 2014.
Teresita Sy-Coson is the daughter of tycoon Henry Sy, and the vice chairman of SM Investments and chairwoman of BDO Unibank.
"As vice chairman of SM Investments Sy-Coson leads one of the largest family conglomerates in the Philippines, with roughly $5 billion in annual revenue from banking, property, hospitality, retail and malls," Forbes wrote about Sy.
"As chairman of SMIC’s Banco de Oro Universal Bank, Sy-Coson spearheaded the opening of 54 new branches last year, bringing its total to 815 in the Philippines and one in Hong Kong," it added.
This is Sy-Coson’s third time to be included in Forbes Asia’s list. In 2012, she was cover of Forbes Asia magazine.
2014 Forbes Asia Power Businesswomen list comprises 50 women from different industries in the region.
Forbes Asia maintained that behind the list, it used the following criteria: company revenue, woman’s position at the company and her involvement in operations.
