Ivan Padilla's Mother asks CHR to investigate son's death
The cause of death of Ivan Padilla, tagged as the mastermind of notorious carnapping syndicate prompted the family to ask the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to prod the supposed suspicious information that the police had revealed about his death.
Padilla was nabbed by the National Capital Region Police Office Anti-Carnapping group on Monday morning,that led to exchange of shots causing Padilla to sustain gunshot wounds. ABS-CBN news crew was still able to interview Padilla briefly, that made people wonder why wasn’t the suspect rushed to the hospital to be treated.
Now, the family is appealing for a review regarding the police operation, whether the attacks were deserved by Padilla.
In addition to that Padilla’s death certificate added to the questionsraised to NCRPO, since the certificate states that he died due to “asphyxia as a result of blunt force to the throat.”
The document contradicts earlier reports that he died because of the gunshot wound.
According to a certain Dr. Espina from the hospital, Padilla’s girlfriend said he was only admitted at around 5:50 a.m. when the shootout encounter happened around 4:20 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.
The family said the hospital is only 15 minutes away, and there was no traffic.
Police responded by saying that they had to secure the area first, before they had to transfer Padilla to the hospital.
On the other hand, the mother, is in the Correctional Institution for Women, where she made her appeal to review the incident. She admits that her son disobeyed the law, yet she was hoping that they could have given her son the chance to change.
She does not believe that her son is the leader of the car napping gang.
The family also clarified they do not live in North Forbes or in Alabang.
