Beware against recruitment scam in Spain-DFA

Philippine officials in Spain are vigilant against the recruitment scam of Spain, luring job seekers, Filipino workers in particular. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) mentioned in a report from the Philippine Embassy in Spain identifying the suspicious firm as Previsto Ferrocariel Guiscoanagin.

According to DFA, the style or gimmick of the syndicate is using the email address espanolconsulate@europe.com to get in touch with Filipino workers and make them believe that this is the email address of the Philippine Embassy in Madrid.

The syndicate gives an address which the Philippine consulate checked, Calle Placentinos 18B, 32005, Barcelona, Spain, but upon checking, they found out there is no such address in Barcelona.

DFA advised the public to be careful of job offers from this company and to investigate or check the genuineness of any job offer and company with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in the country concerned, the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), or the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to avoid possible scams in the near future.
