Belgian Blacklisted for Beating up Pinoy Wife

A Filipino wife was beaten by her Belgian national husband.

Currently, the suspect was placed on a Bureau of Immigration blacklist for maltreating and beating his wife.

A statement was made to the media, Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said Belgian Luc de Nocker has been barred from entering the country at the request of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The DFA made such action based on a report from the Philippine embassy in Brussels due to a complaint that was filed against the Belgian by his wife.

The petitioner reportedly seeked the embassy’s assistance after she and her baby were hospitalized because of violence inflicted upon them by Nocker last April 2.

Nocker’s wife also had to undefgo surgery on her shoulder as she was repeatedly beaten by Nocker who was later arrested by Belgian police.

Together with the order, Libanan said the government will always protect its citizens, especially those who were abused in foreign country.

“This is a stern warning to foreigners who committed domestic violence against our fellow countrymen. Our women should be loved and not to be abused,” Libanan said in a statement.

However, eventhough Nocker is now in custody of the police, the DFA requested Libanan to include the Belgian in the BI blacklist to prevent him from re-entering the Philippines .

Philippine Ambassador to Belgium Enrique Manalo said Nocker should be blacklisted due to his “violent tendencies and proclivity to physically abuse not only his wife but also his newborn child.”
