2 Died because of heat stroke

 

Yesterday, March 8, two were confirmed dead because of heat stroke.  Imelda Lingan from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan was found in their bathroom floor dead.

Imelda was reported to have hypertension and doesn’t take her medications regularly which was later on aggravated by the strong heat.  This month, the temperature in Cagayan reaches 37º C.  PAGASA sends out warning that strong heat will continuously hover in our country.  It was May 11, 1969 when the temperature reached 42.2 º C, hottest temperature recorded in Tuguegarao.

In Iloilo, 16 yeas old Vanrick Rey Gallardo boy died because of heart attack and heat stroke. He was playing basketball when he collapsed and was rushed immediately to a hospital but died. Family of Gallardo was devastated on the incident since he’s a graduating student with a bright future.

DOH shared some informations on how to avoid heat stroke.  When you are out, avoid staying longer under the sun between 10am to 3pm, always use umbrella, and drink water regularly to avoid dehydration.
