170 OFWs arrived in Philippines from Libya


About  170 more Filipinos, many of them starved, sent home from Libya landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) aboard a special flight before dawn Wednesday.

The said  OFWs immediately ate the meals given  by government officials who welcomed them, radio dzBB’s Paulo Santos reported.

Children who came home were also hungry following  the long trip home, the report said.

Earlier, the latest batch of Filipinos, a total of 1,094 Filipinos from Libya came back  to the country aboard several flights, including at least 200 who arrived Tuesday night aboard three flights.

The returning Filipinos were given an orientation by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and told of their option to get a P10,000 financial assistance.
