Employees of Tesla Motors, killed in Plane Crash

 

tesla mototrsThe twin-engine Cessna 310, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Palo Alto Airport, which led to the death of three Tesla Motors emplyees.

The plane crashed in a residential block of East Palo Alto, California, Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said. The twin engine was registered to Air Unique Inc. The identities of the three employees are withheld by the officials as they prefer the relevant authorities to notify the families. 

There were no injuries that were reported on the ground, John Chalmers, a captain at the East Palo Alto Police Department, said in an interview.  Power was knocked out citywide in Palo Alto, affecting about 28,000 customers, said Linda Clerkson, a spokeswoman for the city. Hewlett-Packard Co. and Facebook Inc. were among companies affected by the outage.

The crash set two homes and several cars on fire, said Harold Schapelhouman, fire chief of nearby Menlo Park.  Hewlett and Facebook Inc. were requested to find alternate places to work for the time being.
