Aftershock continues to threaten New Zealand

New Zealand extends its state of emergency until Wednesday due to continued aftershock
following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Saturday. Early this morning record has a 5.2 magnitude
in North Island of the country. Experts warned that more tremors are still likely to happen.
Mayor Bob Parker said the tremors are weakening damaged buildings further.
Some historic buildings are beyond repair.
Electricity had been restored to the most of the city and all major roads and rail links are now open.
