Dick Israel recovering from stroke
“God will not give you trials that you can’t conquer,” Israel vowed in Tagalog in his taped interview in The Buzz show last Sunday.
A month before he was reported to have suffered a stroke while taping for “Magkano ang iyong Dangal”, a popular television series. He recounted that during their taping, the temperature is really hot. He said he was able to go home and fell asleep but suddenly woke up gasping for air before he fainted and was rushed to the hospital. His speech has been affected and half of his body is paralyzed.
During their interview, he was asking for financial help as his saving have already been used up for his medicine and the tuition fee of his two college kids.
He mentioned that he was really happy and grateful for his showbiz friends who have already helped him. Richard Merck has put up a fundraising drive for his cause that will happen July 26 in his bar in Greenbelt 3, Makati City.
Other celebrities like Lorna Tolentino (wife of the late Rudy Fernandez), Christopher De Leon and Israel’s “Maging Sino Ka Man” co-stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo have expressed their support and wished him a quick recovery.
