Derek Ramsay and estranged wife to reach a settlement
Actor Derek Ramsay and estranged wife Mary Christine Jolly are approaching to finish settlement regarding their 11-year-old son.
Both camp On Thursday met behind closed doors following the scheduled hearing for the complaint filed against the actor under Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, was suspended.
Ramsay’s estranged wife was reportedly seeking P42 million in damages from the actor, which was included in the complaint. Their son attended the meeting which lasted for two hours came to a decision from both parties to create an agreement that will contain child support, visitation rights, the citizenship of their son, and the annulment of their marriage will also be added.
Ramsay was very emotional after coming ourt from the meeting. He said that despite of the hurtful words hurled at him, he is still happy because he got to see his son.
"Tinabi ko ‘yung career ko pagpasok ko for my son. Wala akong pakialam sa sarili ko. Anak ko ang inuna ko dito," he said.
On the other hand, Jolly said: "I think we just let out a lot of baggage in the past that needed to be let out before we want to move on and I’m glad that’s resolved."
Earlier, Ramsay confirmed the marriage with Jolly in his counter-affidavit. The two tied the knot in 2002 in Balagtas, Bulacan.
