Kris Aquino and James Yap face off in court
It was almost two months without seeing each other, former couple James Yap and Kris Aquino met again on Friday afternoon not because of anything else but at a hearing held at the Makati Regional Trial Court.
The two parties will try clear anf fix the details of Yap’s visitation rights over their child.
The hearing comes following the filing of Yap a formal motion to push for his visitation rights over his son, Baby James.
Kris Aquino together with her three sisters, Ballsy Cruz, Pinky Abelleda, and Viel Dee, and her lawyers from Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan law offices.
Star cager Yap was with his lawyer, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, lawyer of Hayden Kho as well who revealed that her client was really nervous.
In an earlier interview, Kapunan said she is confident her client will be able to obtain the visitation rights they are requesting, prior to Yap’s departure for the United States this week.
"I’m nice, but I can be not nice. We’ll have to resort to more drastic legal measures," Kapunan said.
Yap has requested that he be given a chance to be with his son for two days each week, and that he be given the right to bring his son to visit his grandparents in Escalante, Negros Occidental.
Kapunan said she is disappointed that her client still has not yet seen his son.
Kapunan added that Aquino’s side had told them they were open to having a meeting, however when they called the office of Aquino’s lawyers, "no one" seemed to know about the meeting.
The Makati Regional Trial Court, with Judge Cristina Javallera Sulit presiding it, is expected to have a decision as soon as possible after the closed-door hearing.
