Floyd Mayweather revives  challenge to Pacquiao on Twitter

Renewing his challenge he made on Twitter earlier, American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Wednesday (Manila time) is now challenging  Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao to fight him  on May 5.
 
In his  posts on his Twitter account,  Mayweather  vowed  to serve Pacquiao an "ass-whooping."
 
"I’m ready to fight Pacquiao 5/5/12…  Bob Arum know the date can’t change, I have my guarantee… call Schaefer & Al and stop lying to the public," he said.

Schaefer is Golden Boy’s CEO Richard Schaefer, who has represented Mayweather in his previous  fights. On the other hand, Al refers to Al Haymon, Mayweather’s manager.
 
He added that while Jan. 16 was the birth anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Jan. 17 is the birthday of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, "May 5th is Pacquiao ass whooping day."
 
Mayweather also challenged his  critics who said claimed that he was afraid of  fighting Pacquiao, and now saying he is begging for it.

"First They say I’m Ducking the Fight. But now it seems like I’m begging for the fight.. What is going on?" he said.

Giving up is the last thing on his mind.

Mexican boxer Erik "El Terible" Morales is calling out  for a fourth fight against Filipino boxing champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao after  his two losses in their trilogy.

Morales was the last man to beat  Pacquiao, accepting  a unanimous decision win against the Filipino boxer in March 2009.

However, Pacquiao was dominant in their two subsequent rematches, knocking out Morales in the 10th round of their second fight and then in the third round of their trilogy fight.

Ignoring  those two losses, Morales  continued his boxing career, succeeding  a title at the junior welterweight division. In an interview with Boxing Scene, he said  that he wants to face  Pacquiao for a fourth time, to fight  for his poor showing in their second and third fights.

"I accepted a fight with Pacquiao in a division where I knew I couldn’t make a weight," Morales said, referring to their bouts in the super featherweight division. "My life outside the ring was in shambles."

"I wasn’t in shape for the Pacquiao fights, because I wasn’t putting my full concentration on boxing," he added.

Morales claimed  that he still has what it takes to beat Pacquiao again.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum will be coming  to Manila next week to meet with his valuable  fighter Manny Pacquiao.

Arum said the meeting will be all about Pacman’s  options for 2012.

"I’m going to the Philippines on January 8, and I should be there on January 10. I’m going to shortly, thereafter, meet with Manny," Arum said in RingTV.com.

“We’re going to be offering Manny four potential opponents – [Miguel] Cotto, [Juan Manuel] Marquez, [Timothy] Bradley and [Lamont] Peterson," he added.

Arum added that the selection process will start  after their discussion.

Pacquiao plans  to make his comeback  to the boxing ring in May or June.   

In an exhibition game on Tuesday, David Beckham called for celebration which  what could be his final match for LA Galaxy with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Australia’s Melbourne Victory.
 
Beckham, 36, is about to finish his  contract with the Major League Soccer champions and is reported to be thinking of accepting  a huge offer to play for French club Paris St Germain, or to stay in the United States.

The soccer  superstar said this week he might get to decide on his future until early in the New Year.

While in a friendly match against Italian tennis player Flavia Pennetta in Milan, Venus Williams’ left strap on one of her  self-designed eleVen dresses snapped during the match, almost revealing  extra flesh to the crowd.

As expected from a fashion veteran, Venus was able to conceal and coolly walked off the court to change clothes. When she  came back, she gave popcorn for Pennetta, who had been forced to wait out the literal changeover.

American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants to dominate when it comes to stating the terms of a possible superfight against Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather insists he should be able to dictate since he is the bigger draw compared to Pacquiao.

"We tell you what we’re going to give you, and you can take it or you don’t have to. We’re the A-side,” Mayweather said in Boxingscene.com. 

Pacquiao said on Thursday that there are present  negotiations  with the camp of Mayweather for a possible mega-fight.
He believes that  Mayweather may have given it a thought to stop avoiding him after seeing the Juan Manuel Marquez fight.

Filipino boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao on Monday seemed okay  "losing" his title as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter in a Yahoo! Sports poll.

Pacquiao  said that while he also wanted a one-sided victory  over Juan Manuel Marquez last week, he now knew that things cannot go one’s way all the time.

"Di ko alam saan lumabas yan. Siguro sa ibang tao na siguro hindi dugong Pinoy ang nag-isip ng ganyan," he said of "losing" the pound-for-pound king title to Floyd Mayweather Jr., at a press conference at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport shortly after arriving from the United States.

According to the reports, Pacquiao went down  to No. 2 based on Yahoo! Sports’ pound-for-pound list, with analysts saying his narrow win over Marquez had much to do with it.

Pacquiao said he is always  thankful to God and to Filipinos who always  support him.
 

After the controversial match of Marquez and Pacquiao, trainer of Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez, Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain,  is considering filing a case against the three judges at ringside in  Marquez’s bout against Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao last Saturday in Las Vegas (Sunday in Manila).

In that match, Marquez lost to Pacquiao after  a majority decision, a result that Beristain slammed as "robbery of the utmost."

Boxing observers at ringside while  the fight felt that Marquez gave everything to win the fight  against Pacquiao, which happens to be their third encounter.

Robert Hoyle scored the bout a draw, 114-114, while Dave Moretti (115-113) and Glenn Trowbridge (116-112) both gave the bout to Pacquiao.

Beristain, could not accept  the judges’ decision.

"In the 52 years that I’ve been in boxing, I’ve never seen a robbery like this. The three judges who issued the results are unworthy of being in this sport," Beristain said, according to BoxingScene.com.]

Manny Pacuiao is the man of the hour. As the boxer walked back to his corner, knelt, praying. Marquez, on the other hand raised his arms as if he bagged the title.

However, when it was time to reveal the result of the score cards, 114-114, 115-113, 116-112 was announced and cheers exploded inside MGM arena, the announcer said the winner of the match is Manny Pacquiao. The latter appeared to be surprised and Marquez was shocked. That’s when the booing started.

It was definitely a good fight  since the two boxers played and delivered. This was the third time for the Mexican to fight with Pacquiao

Their first meeting was  a controversial draw, while the second resulted to  a split decision in favor of the General Santos City.

Will there be a fourth bout?

And the boxing trilogy of Pacquiao and Marquez has finally come

For Manny Pacquiao the fight will make Juan Manuel Marquez,his great rival from Mexico realize that he really is the winner.

Not only does World Boxing Organization welterweight title is at stake, Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 knockouts) will top  his trilogy tonight against Marquez (52-5-1, 38 KOs) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Meanwhile, seats have been sold out for months for the pay-per-view fight.
