‘Talibans’ renamed in ‘Medal of Honor’ video game

"Taliban" fighters in Medal of Honor video game are replaced by "Opposing Force." This move was decided Friday by Game publisher Electronic Arts in response to military officials’ reaction and harsh criticism on the video game.

"This is a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It is a voice that we care deeply about. Because of this, and because the heartbeat of ‘Medal of Honor’ has always resiided in the reverence for American and Allied soldiers, we have decided to rename the opposing team." Executive producer Greg Goodrich said in a written statement.

The game is set to be released October 12 and is expected to be one of the top video game rollouts of the year.

Earlier news said British Defense Secretary Liam Fox called for retail stores ban the game to show support for the military and their families. "It is shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban," Fox told the newspaper. "At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands."

The U.S. military’s Army & Air Force Exchange Service had asked stores not to stock "Medal of Honor." Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella the service’s commanding officer said, "Out of respect to those we serve, we will not be stocking this game. We regret any inconvenience this may cause authorized shoppers, but are optimistic that they will understand the sensitivity to the life and death scenarios this product presents as entertainment."

EA spokesman Jeff Brown said the controversy surprised the game publisher. He said it was surprising that everyone has to be reminded that the dynamics of video games is good vs bad. He also mentioned that there are consumers, including military and retired military personnel, who expressed their support in writing to the company’s right to produce the game in its orginial form.

Goodrich said that removing the "Taliban" name does not fundamentally change the gameplay.

Meanwhile, other war games are allowed to play as historical US enemies like Nazis and others like "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" have "Taliban-like forces" set-up.

As the war against the Taliban is not over, some can understand how sensitive others can be in this issue. EA’s decision to use an indirect name would be beneficial to their business as well as to the sensitive public.

Blizzard Entertainment releases Star Craft II

Finally, after 12 years of waiting, Star Craft fans can now enjoy the newly released strategy game Star Craft II: Wings of Liberty from Blizzard Entertainment.

A sequel based from the award-winning 1998 video game, Starcraft II is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game with the player being in command in the survival of humans against insect horde and telepathic aliens.

Released on July 27, 2010, which now holds the record for the longest time before a sequel, the game was developed for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X users.

"We’ve worked hard to deliver an epic continuation of the StarCraft story line as well as the ultimate competitive real-time strategy game with StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Combined with the next generation online environment of the new Battle.net, we believe players will agree that StarCraft II offers an experience unlike anything we’ve ever created, and we’re excited to finally be able to share it with them."

To give more excitement to its fans, Blizzard split the game to three installments: the base game Wings of Liberty, and the two expansion packs, Heart of the Swarm and the Legacy of the Void.

The trilogy game is said to highlight the three races, with Wings of Liberty focused on the Terrans, followed by Heart of the Swarm, which revolves around the Zerg and finally the Legacy of the void which is devoted to the Protoss.

The development of StarCraft II was announced on May 19, 2007, but it was initially delayed for a year due to the temporary reassignment of Blizzard’s resources to World of Warcraft.

CAPCOM vs. NAMCO: Street Fighter X Tekken

At Comic Con, producers of CAPCOM Street Fighter 4, Yoshinori Ono, and of its NAMCO rival Tekken, Katsuhiro Harada, announced that these two great arcade games will join together to develop two versions in the world of Tekken and in Street Fighter, or should we call "CAPCOM vs. NAMCO."

The first is "Street Fighter X Tekken" (Street Fighter Cross Tekken) being developed by CAPCOM was introduced by Ono with a teaser trailer featuring Ryu of Street Fighter against Kazuya Mishima of Tekken. The game features Street Fighter 4 mechanics in 2D and will be available to PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

Harada, on the other hand, announced the second which is "Tekken X Street Fighter." The featured characters in the game are rumored to fight in a 3D arena from the world of Tekken, being developed by NAMCO.

Attendees of the announcement at Comic Con were provided a live, playable demo of both games where Ryu (SF), Chun-Li (SF), Nina Williams (T) and Kazuya Mishima (T) were part of the roaster.

Starcraft II: The peace is over, and the war is exploding

This July 27, the most awaited game by the starcraft fans for almost a decade will now be released by blizzard.
Blizzard is also the creator of world of warcraft and diablo2, a software house that already made the impossible in gaming industry possible with superb game play requirements.

This time, can they please the crowd like they did in 1998(starcraft)? We already know that this very moment is the gaming industry boom. Unless you copy big games today or have a better gaming idea, don’t try to invest in this industry because the competition is on fire.

Can blizzard capture the starcraft fans again or will they do it just like other’s did?

Do you know that in Korea startcraft original became a national obsession? And almost all of the top players there are celebrities, and the TV broadcast of the game attracted millions of audience.

It is unsure though why Koreans love starcraft and it is also noticed that they don’t just love starcraft. It became part of their culture after they have learned it from Americans. Many Korean players became traders in the Korean stock market when they retired since they have something that they learned from the game and that those skills of making quick bids and orders on the stock exchanges.

In this short but amusing vid, he was saying how he loves his gloves, but how in the world did clitoris stumbled from his mouth?

But then, Manny was right, he really said Clitoris. A fan said it’s a Brand Name for Boxing Equipments from Eastern Europe, but never made it to U.S. probably because of its name. So let’s not be too hard on the guy.

Mo twister strikes again by posting on his blog pictures of co-disc jock on 89.9DWTM. The pics are blurry but Mo twister confirmed that it was Grace Lee’s boobs, showing only the top view of her "twins" the term Mo came up with and is so fond of mentioning in his morning radio show. He announced it yesterday morning that he posted it and Grace Lee was a good sport enough not to take it seriously.
