Star Cinema and Viva Films will collaborate in a movie project that will have  Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsay in one big screen. This was announced on Friday adding that the storyline is about a  forbidden love.

Seen by some as the movie of the year with a “casting coup,” Curtis said the film will keep its patrons guessing.

“Feeling ko, maguguluhan ang mga tao, parang kanino ba kami approve,” said Curtis.

Film writer Ana Manalastas said the viewers will keep guessing on  how the story will end up.

Movie director Ruel Bayani said the roles that Ramsay, Curtis and Reyes will portray are very challenging.

“Hindi ito Kimerald movie, this will be sexy and daring. Not the usual mistress movie na ginawa na noon nina Vilma Santos,” he said.

General Zod to be played by "Boardwalk" star Michael Shannon. Shannon who was nominated for an Oscar award two years ago for portraying a mentally troubled man in the film "Revolutionary Road," is going to be the new Superman villain. Warner Brothers Superman film officially titled "Man of Steel," casted Shannon as the evil General Zod. He will be facing off against Henry Cavill, the franchise’s new Superman.

While Zod has many story lines, he was the fascist leader of the military on Krypton, Superman’s home planet. General Zod who appeared in both 1978′s "Superman" and its sequel "Superman II," was portrayed by Terrence Stamp, where Christopher Reeves played the role of Superman.

According to the films director Zack Snyder, the villain Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but also one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. "Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role," Snyder said in a statement.

Shannon joins an already star-studded cast in Snyder’s film reboot of the beloved comic book. Amy Adams who plays as Lois Lane, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent and many more.

  "God of Love"  a  short film produced by three Filipino-Americans, won the Best Live Action Short category in the 83rd Academy Awards on Sunday.

The producers of the film are Stefanie Walmsley and Gigi Dement, while the marketing and distribution producer is Stephen Dypiangco.

The 18-minute movie beat  "The Confession," "The Crush," "Na Wewe" and "Wish 143."

Walmsley and Dement both reside in New York, while Dypiangco is based in Los Angeles, California.

Dement was born in Baguio City and moved to  US while Dypiangco, whose parents are both US immigrants, was born in America.

Walmsley, who was born and raised in Manila, was a child star and an Eat Bulaga host before she left for the US.

A public relation officer from ABS CBN confirmed that  Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chanis interested to do a movie project with young actress Kim Chiu.

Reportedly, Chan himself chose the young star after he saw her picture. As expected, Kim agreed to the offer. Chiu was expected to go to the set location, however, it was postponed.

Meanwhile the status of the movie project remains unknown.

After tweeting a month ago that she has retired from acting, 24-year old actress Amanda Bynes tweeted about her apparent return.  On Friday, Bynes posted on her Twitter account: “I’ve unretired.”

She appeared in her own show (“The Amanda Show”) on the Nickelodeon channel and starred in a few sitcom and movies.  Her latest comedy flick, “Easy A,” hits movie theatres on September 17.

Senator Bong Revilla and the Prince of Comedy, Vic Sotto will be working together for a movie in this year’s metro manila film festival, as compared to previous years where they have their own projects.

The tandem will be doing an action comedy film just like the previous projects with Bong and Vic as lead actors. The title of the much awaited movie is “Agimat ni Enteng Kabisote”.

Every year, Vic Sotto gets the title of comedy king award. However, this year there will be a number of actors who will be joining in as well for the competition in this category.

On this regard though, if Vic still wins the MMFF comedy king award this year, he will already become a legend in Philippines cinema history.

Also, the press asked if Bong is ensuring that their movie will win the MMFF. Bong’s reply is that it depends on what will happen but he will make sure that people who will watch it will surely enjoy, and that its ok even if they don’t win.

Meanwhile, on the other related news, senator Bong Revilla confirms that he refused an offer from wowowee to be its host for the show. The senator said that wowowee is willie and no one can change that fact.

Before Senator Bong Revilla became a senator, he was a very active tv host for GMA’s Kap’s Amazing stories.

Other hit movies of Kap was Resiklo back in 2007, and Panday which was shown last year.

Eclipse dominates the July 4th holiday weekend, as the third installment of the hit teen-romantic soap opera movie series launched with $69 million over the Fri-Sun portion.

The third installment of Eclipse is the third-biggest Independence Day opening weekend in history, after Spider-Man 2 with $88 million and Transformers $70 million.

The film has a potential to surpass the $180 million sixth day opening of Spider-Man 2 over the same six-day holiday weekend in 2004.

The second major movie of the weekend was the  debut of The Last Airbender. Showing once again that Paramount can release anything when they put their budget plus efforts into it. However  M. Night Shyamalan encountered negative feedbacks, but  the reviews certainly did not matter, even after  the controversy regarding the casting of white actors to play Asian characters.

This  must-see movie is the thirteenth-biggest Independence Day opening on record, and the film will likely end the holiday weekend with more or less $70 million.

That’s not what you think, its not Garfield the orange cute cat but instead,the actor named Andrew Garfield. Garfield will be our new Peter Parker and Spiderman for the next installment of Spiderman movie.

Andrew was born in the United States, but he grew up in Britain. He is also a friend of our "twilight" vampire star Robert Pattison.

Tobey McGuire has been our friendly neighborhood Spiderman for the past 3 installments but he won’t be able to do it this time due to schedule conflicts.

The superhero debut will be released on July 3 2012, when the film hits theater in 3D. Marc Webb will be directing the 4th installment and is sure that the fans will be pleased with Andrew Garfield.

The director Marc Webb was also the director of “500 days of summer” the indie which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.

Andrew also been seen in the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," the project Heath Ledger and "Lions for Lambs" with Tom Cruise , Meryl Streep and Robert Redford . The young actor is also a part of the cast of the upcoming Facebook movie, "The Social Network," due for release later this year.

British Actor Andrew Garfield, 26 years old, was chosen to portray Peter Parker in Spiderman 4 as it returns on screen on July 2010. The new film is set to begin its production early december under Director Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad will produce the film from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Early January 2010, Sony Pictures announced that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been cancelled due to Raimi’s withdrawal from the project along with stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Raimi reportedly ended his participation due to doubt that he could meet the planned May 6, 2011 release date while upholding the film creatively.

If you have already seen the famous movie "Twilight", then you might have also seen  Filipino-Canadian Brett Chan.

Actor Brett Chan is a stunt coordinator, fight choreographer and one of the new-born vampires in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”.

“I’m one of them the newborn vampires. I’m kind of insignificant, but in a sense I play a big role, as my whole team does,” Chan said.

He did choreographed the stunts in the last Samurai, Nacho Libre, Fantastic 4 and X-Men 2, where he was badly injured.

“I pulled out one second too late. I’ve got second-degree burns all over my arms and on the side of my face,” said Chan.

Chan proudly shared that she started with the Ninja Turtles movie.

“You want to audition for the Ninja Turtles? I said yeah, definitely. So I went on and I got it. So I was always a bad guy in Ninja Turtles. It just kinda snowballed from there,” he said.

Chan has a lot of background in martial arts, shotokan, taekwondo and arnis. His dad literally forced him to go into martial arts and it paid off.

For years now, he has been working closely with Hollywood A-Listers for years now.

“Halle Berry, she was a pleasure to be around. Tom Cruise was fabulous. Tom Cruise did 99% of his stunts in the (movie) Last Samurai,” he said.

Chan also aspires to create a whole new world for action movies in the Philippines.

“I think it would do great to bring the Hollywood aspect of action and film making into the Philippines market,” he said.
